Wildfire Prepared Home: An IBHS Burn Demonstration
Wednesday, June 19 | 11:00am
North Net Training Facility, Anaheim CA
Do you know what it means to build a Wildfire Prepared Home?
Learn all about it at PCBC 2024!
PCBC and
CBIA have teamed up with the
Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS) to conduct a LIVE burn demonstration during PCBC at an offsite location, a 10-minute drive from the Anaheim Convention Center. Open to a limited number of
Max Pass Conference attendees and special guests, this burn will demonstrate the system of science-based mitigation actions in IBHS’s Wildfire Prepared Home™ including the significance of how a creating and maintaining a noncombustible zone zero and using wildfire-resistant materials in homebuilding can meaningfully reduce a home’s risk of ember ignition.
The burn demonstration experience is part of the PCBC Conference Max Pass WILDFIRE RESILIENCY Track. Learn more about the PCBC conference tracks here.
We have partnered with The California Homebuilding Foundation (CHF) and The Donald Chaiken Building Industry Technology Academy (BITA) to build the burn demo structures.
Check out this video from a previous burn demonstration held in Sacramento, California last year. Our live controlled burn demonstration taking place at PCBC is only the fifth of its kind ever conducted.
Are you up for the challenge?
Transforming the Homebuilding Landscape
The increasing frequency and intensity of wildfires have propelled the need for fire-resistant and non-combustible building and landscaping materials. Homebuilders are actively seeking manufacturers and service providers that offer solutions to enhance safety and resilience in the face of California's wildfire challenges.
Find out how you can be a part of PCBC 2024 and our WILDFIRE RESILIENCY Program.
