The 50th Annual Gold Nugget Awards Open to builders, developers, architects and land planners with projects in the United States and all international countries.
The Oldest and Most Prestigious Design Awards in the Nation

ELIGIBLE ENTRIES Any project or development that was open for sale, lease or rental at any time after January 1, 2011 are eligible. On the Boards entries have no time restrictions.
Entries from the United States and International projects in any and all international countries of the world are eligible.
Previous Merit Award winners are eligible for the 2013 program, if they meet eligibility criteria described.
EXCLUSIONS Previous Grand Award winners are not eligible in the same category, unless there have been distinct design changes. Projects for which the architect or builder is a member of the 2013 panel of judges are not eligible for the 2013 Gold Nugget competition. Please review the following information carefully. HOW TO ENTER Review the categories and make your selections. Complete online entry application and entry fees for all entries and submit no later than April 10, 2013. EXTENDED DEADLINE
ENTRY FEES The fee is $295 each entry
You may submit as many entries as you wish in each category, but each requires the appropriate fee. Pay by VISA/Mastercard/AMEX.

JUDGING Each entry will be judged on its own merits by a panel of distinguished individuals selected for professional expertise in design, planning and building. Gold Nugget Awards reserves the right to combine or eliminate any category or categories due to insufficient entries. GNA also reserves the right to create new categories if the judges believe it is warranted. Judges may re-categorize an entry if they believe it has been entered in the wrong category, or is better suited to another category. Special Awards for specific innovations may be presented at the Judges' discretion.
JUDGING CRITERIA Homes: Innovation in architecture, sustainable design, suitability to target market, floor plan efficiency, creative use of materials, interior design, and landscaping. Striving for special and unique design solutions to the position aimed at and success achieved.
Projects: Should have a neighborhood focus. Innovation in architecture, sustainable design, suitability to target market, floor plan efficiency, creative use of materials, interior design, and landscaping. Striving for special and unique design solutions to the position aimed at and success achieved.
Communities: Should have a big picture focus. Innovation in architecture, sustainable design, suitability to target market, floor plan efficiency, creative use of materials, interior design, and landscaping. Striving for special and unique design solutions to the position aimed at and success achieved.
Rehab or Remodeling: Design creativity, historical sensitivity in the renovation, rehabilitation and adaptive re-use of existing residential and non-residential buildings. Innovation in architecture, sustainable design, suitability to target market, floor plan efficiency, creative use of materials, interior design, and landscaping. Striving for special and unique design solutions to the position aimed at and success achieved.
Special Focus: Creative Treatment that deserves special recognition. Innovation in architecture, sustainable design, suitability to target market, floor plan efficiency, creative use of materials, and interior design. Striving for special and unique design solutions to the position aimed at and success achieved.
NOTIFICATION Entrants who earn an Award of Merit will be notified by early May. These award winners are finalists for the Grand Award. Finalists will be posted on the Gold Nugget web site: www.goldnuggetawards.com by May 6th.
GOLD NUGGET CEREMONIES/TICKETS Grand, Award of Merit and Special Awards will be presented at PCBC 2013 in San Diego. The ceremony featuring the winners will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 from 4:30pm to 7:30pm at the San Diego Convention Center.
Limited seating makes it advisable to order tickets well in advance: Reserved seating is taken on a “first-come-first-served” basis with special consideration to sponsors and table purchasers. A ticket order form is available on The Gold Nugget Awards website.
PUBLISHING RIGHTS Gold Nugget Awards and BUILDER Magazine assume publishing rights to all Gold Nugget entry materials.
USEAGE OF ENTRY MATERIALS All materials, including photographs, entered into the competition become the property of Gold Nugget.
By submitting photos, you agree that Gold Nugget has the right to publish them in its own materials, including on its website, and to provide them to other media publishing stories on Gold Nugget winners, finalists, or the Gold Nugget awards program. It is the responsibility of the applicant to have secured permission from their photographers for Gold Nugget to use their photographs.
RETURN OF ENTRY MATERIALS All materials become the property of The Gold Nugget Awards.
